The rights in our CBA were built by decades of Players who fought to improve the game, and protect Players individually and as a collective. Every generation of Player has been committed to leaving it better for the guys who come after us, and we’re going to do the same.

The game is at its best when everyone competes: every Player, on every pitch, every day. And we want every club to compete the way we do, because our fans deserve it

Collective Bargaining

+

-

Our system is the best system in all of sports. Best for Players, best for fans, and best for our game. We aren’t interested in a system that will eliminate our rights or restricts what we can earn.

Owners have wanted a salary cap system in baseball for decades for a simple reason: it increases their profits and franchise values by restricting rights and compensation for Players. We don’t want that kind of system.

MLB/Owner Comments on a Salary Cap

+

-

Our game is in a great place - we have incredibly talented Players on the field, millions of fans coming to games, and the industry is doing well. There are always things that can be improved, but it’s a great time to be a baseball fan.
